Julen Lopetegui, the former manager of Real Madrid and Spain, has been announced as the new manager of West Ham following David Moyes' departure from the London Stadium. After leaving Wolves before the start of the previous Premier League season, the 57-year-old Spaniard has been without a job until now. Lopetegui will officially take charge of the Hammers on July 1, taking over from Moyes who left at the end of the season.

"We have come here with the intention of making a significant impact," he stated. "That is why we chose to come here, and we are thrilled by this challenge.

"Without a doubt, we will give our utmost to assist the club and the team in reaching their highest potential and achieving our goals.

"I want to assure the fans that they will play a crucial role in all of our accomplishments."

West Ham joint-chairman, David Sullivan, expressed his belief that Lopetegui's appointment will provide a solid opportunity to build upon the positive progress made in recent seasons.

In the 2023/24 season, the Hammers finished in ninth place in the Premier League.
