Napoli has officially welcomed Kevin De Bruyne, the former Manchester City star, to their team. The talented Belgian midfielder, who is 33 years old, has joined the Serie A champions after leaving City at the end of last season.
Napoli announced the signing on social media with a fun image of De Bruyne sitting on a throne and wearing a crown, captioned 'King Kev.' After spending a decade at Manchester City, De Bruyne is now a free agent and excited about this new opportunity.

Although he believed he could still contribute to City, the club felt it was time for a change. De Bruyne received an emotional farewell during his last match for the team. He turned down offers from Major League Soccer in the U.S. to continue his career in Europe with Napoli, especially after the club secured a spot in the Champions League by winning Serie A last month.
In April, De Bruyne expressed his surprise at leaving City. He said, “Yeah, a little bit. I haven't had an offer all year; they just made a decision. I was a bit surprised, but I have to accept it.” He also mentioned that the team’s struggles last season might have influenced the decision. “If the team had done better and I had come back from my injury like normal, maybe they would have decided differently,” he added.
Knowing he isn't as young as he used to be, De Bruyne still feels capable of performing at a high level. He is eager to demonstrate his ability to excel in Europe and looks forward to playing in the Champions League with Napoli.
